Questions, answered
Can I really use it free forever?
Yes. The plugin is fully functional with your own key: any OpenAI-compatible endpoint (Ollama, LM Studio, DeepSeek, OpenRouter…) or your existing Claude subscription via the official Claude Code CLI. The subscription just removes all setup and keys.
What model does the subscription use?
GLM 5.2, Z.ai's flagship reasoning model, with automatic routing to a faster economical model for simple tasks so your quota goes further. You can pin either model at any time.
Do my notes pass through your servers?
It depends on how you run it. Retrieval always runs locally in Obsidian. With your own key, the Claude Code CLI, or a self-hosted endpoint, chat requests go directly from the plugin to your provider and never reach us. On the paid subscription, your prompt and note excerpts are proxied through our backend to the model — and on that path they're stored and logged. Full details in the privacy policy.
Can I cancel or switch plans?
Anytime. Cancelling keeps the plugin working — you drop back to the free tier with your own key. No lock-in, your index and chat history stay on your machine.
Why no lifetime plan?
Every subscriber has a real recurring model cost behind them. A lifetime deal would force us to degrade quality later — we'd rather stay honest and sustainable.
